On a previous post we talked about how WPA2, the most widely used Wi-Fi Router Protection method was flawed and vulnerable for certain attacks.

But luckily this year the Wi-Fi Alliance has announced its plans to introduce WPA3 with fixes for the issues in WPA2. Following are the capabilities introduced in WPA3

  1. Protection for users who do not choose complex passwords.
  2. Simplified process of configuring security on devices that have no display, ostensibly like that little button on your router that you’ve never pressed.
  3. Strengthening user privacy in open networks’
  4. Adding a 192-bit security suite which will, ‘further protect WiFi networks with higher security requirements’.

These will allow better security for Wi-Fi users and peace of mind of Network Administrators and lets hope it will come as soon as possible with expected results.
